Applications: generally, EVA with vinyl acetate content below 5% is mainly made into film, wire & cable, LDPE modifiers and adhesives; EVA with 5%-10% VA is used for elastic film; EVA with 20%-28% VA is mainly used for hot-melt adhesives and coating products; EVA with 5%-45% VA is mainly made into film (including agricultural film) and sheet, injection and molding products, foamed products and hot-melt adhesives.
EVA can be processed by many different methods, such as injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, calendering and foaming. It is mainly used to produce packaging materials, agricultural film, injection-molded products, cable materials, plastic foam, masterbatch carriers, blend toughening materials and damping/sound-insulating materials. It is also used to make hot-melt adhesives, carpet backing, wax-based coatings and shoe soles. Through hollow (blow) molding, EVA can be made into flexible tubing such as expandable hose and micro-irrigation pipe.
EVA is packed in kraft-paper bags, 25 kg net per bag. The resin should be stored in a ventilated, dry warehouse away from fire and direct sunlight and should not be stacked outdoors. During transport the material must not be exposed to strong sunlight or rain, and must not be transported together with sand, soil, scrap metal, coal or glass.
